So how about if you hide from yourself and make it seem like you’re not really there, but it’s really not that hard, and you’ll probably be able to get some real insight into what you do.
Well if you want to be able to figure out what you do, then you know one of the best ways to do it is to hide from yourself. You can’t just sit still and not think about what you do, can you? That’s why so many people struggle with this. One of the best ways to do that is to not believe that you’re not there.
This is the trick that has helped me get through some of my most challenging periods of depression. Basically I would say that if you want to be able to live your life with a lot of control, then you just have to believe that you are. When I was in that state it was so difficult to believe that I wasn’t in control. I would get into these rages of anger and I would have to say that I wasn’t in control of anything anymore.
And one of the best pieces of advice I ever got from a therapist was to just believe.
The phrase “Just believe” has been one of the main reasons I have been able to recover so quickly. I didn’t believe, I just went with what I felt. I have also found that my biggest blocks to recovery are usually caused by the fear of falling apart.
But in the end, just believing is the only thing that helps you overcome your fears. People will tell you that they can’t believe you can be happy again, but they are wrong. It’s never too late to start believing that you can be happy again, and it’s never too late to start living again.
